Sylvia Park – Te Kehu Intersection
OVERVIEW
The Sylvia Park – Te Kehu Intersection lighting project involved upgrading the lighting at a busy shopping centre roadway intersection to match the aesthetic and functionality of the surrounding outdoor amenity areas, which also featured WE-EF FLC projectors. The challenge lay in creating a cohesive visual design across different spaces while ensuring the lighting distribution met the specific needs of a roadway environment.

THE OBJECTIVES
The key objective was to reflect the same product style as adjacent outdoor areas while adapting the lighting distribution to suit the requirements of an intersection. The design team aimed to use the form factor of the WE-EF FLC range, which was already in use, but with the precise road lighting distributions typically found in WE-EF VFL/RFL products.
PRODUCT SELECTION
WE-EF FLC230 and FLC230 were chosen for this project due to their durability, high technical performance. The use of FLC230 projectors allowed the intersection to maintain a uniform design language with the surrounding areas, while still delivering the necessary road lighting distributions.
OUTCOMES
The lighting upgrade at Sylvia Park – Te Kehu Intersection successfully achieved the design intent of integrating with the adjacent outdoor spaces while ensuring road safety through precise lighting distribution. The project highlighted the flexibility and performance of WE-EF’s products in meeting both aesthetic and technical requirements in a complex urban setting.
